LG GD900 – Cinderella Mobile Phone

by bestgeek on February 18, 2009

Just received a press release mentioning that LG are launching a transparent design phone that will be numbered the LG-GD900. The phone was first seen at MWC2009 and is a crystal like phone that is literally see-through.

The LG-GD900 glass-like phone has a translucent keypad and a polished silver body. When the keypad slides open, light illuminates in a cool glow around the phone in a reflective and refractive way.

We can’t help but think that the LG GD900 is a handset that was specially released for Cinderella, the fabled chick who got a lucky break in life just because she enthralled the prince with her beauty (and thank goodness her feet didn’t smell, despite doing all that housework the entire day!). Her glass slipper will definitely go down well with the LG GD900, as this 13mm thin handset comes with a transparent slide out keypad that will send shivers down iPhone fans where design is concerned. The GD900’s keypad will still glow even in the dark to make sure you know what key you’re hitting, and it will be out in Q2 this year. Apart from the fact that it will run on HSDPA for fast Internet connectivity wherever applicable, very little else is known about this handset.

Transparent yet eye-catching, the LG-GD900 will stand out from the crowd, and so will those who carry it. When opened, its sliding, translucent keypad illuminates a cool glow that reflects the phone’s sleek and polished silver body. But first-rate design was not the only thing in mind when creating the LG-GD900. It also lives up to the highest level of technical features expected in a premium calibre handset, including its dedicated Bluetooth headset.

The LG-GD900 is scheduled for release during the second quarter of 2009 and the phone’s advanced features will be unveiled at that time. However, visitors at the Mobile World Congress will have an exciting opportunity to get a glimpse of LG-GD900, one of the most sensational new handsets at the LG Electronics booth (Hall 8).
